The Hope Street Shivers: our signature dish with some extra special twists and turns – takes in the Cathedral Quarter of Hope Street. Beginning outside The Philharmonic Pub this excursion includes both Cathedrals, the crooked smile of Rodney Street and the infamous story of Will McKenzie (Liverpool’s most infamous undead resident) Explore the legendary Old Irish Centre, formally The Wellington Rooms, ending the journey beneath the Gothic Majesty of Liverpool’s Anglican in St James’ cemetery, (where for over a hundred years something sinister has lurked beneath the shadows, and is now employed on a part time ad-hoc basis for Shiverpool with dental cover.)

Enjoy the sunken depths of the old quarry now St James’ Cemetery Gardens, alive with super-natural wonders, be serenaded through a magical space of hidden tunnels, truly an otherworldly place!

The Tour 

Join our Guide Indiana Bones and explore the Seven Original Streets within the City’s historic commercial district!

Explore the secret stories of the city’s oldest thoroughfares and medieval history from ancient boundary stones to hidden Liver Birds!

Meeting at the historic Queen Victoria Monument (the site of Liverpool’s Castle) you will be transported through the city’s archives, uncovering the location of WWII Operation ‘Fish’ hear tales of the murderous black widows and find out just where that third Liver Bird is hiding… Finishing at the location of Herman Melville’s Dead House…

Suitable for all the family

HIDDEN HISTORIES tours are family friendly and will take place every Saturday at 3.00pm from the Queen Victoria Monument and will end at St Nicholas’ Churchyard, Chapel Street. En route you will see the city’s wonderful architecture, stunning views, breathtaking locations whilst your guide regales you with carefully crafted tales from the pages and pavements of Liverpool’s incredible past.

Are the tours wheelchair friendly?

The Seven Original Streets tour is accessible but please be aware that there are cobbled streets and curbs

Meeting point for the Seven Original Streets Tour is The Queen Victoria Monument, ending at The Church of Our Lady and St Nic’s.
